Griffith College Dublin is one of the longest-established private third level (higher education) colleges in Dublin, Ireland. Established in 1974, with four campuses in Dublin, Cork and Limerick, Griffith College is one of the two largest independent higher education college in Ireland, with a student population of around 7,000 with 1,400 overseas students from over 77 countries.
The main campus is situated on seven acres within a mile of St. Stephen's Green on Dublin's South Circular Road. Student Halls of Residence are located on campus, close to the library, creative studios, the student bar and restaurant, gym facilities, and the Students Union.
Griffith College enjoys national and a growing international reputation for student success. The College has gained an enviable, award-winning reputation for providing students with first-class lectures and excellent study material. Griffith College offers internationally recognised postgraduate and undergraduate degree programmes, complemented by a wide range of professional, short term and corporate training educational solutions - in Griffith College, there is something for everyone. Today, there are over 7,000 students studying in the College, which is a designated educational institute of the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC).
Next year Griffith College will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding. During that time, many former students have gone on to distinguished careers in Ireland and internationally, in fields as diverse as accountancy, business, computing, design, law, media, music and drama.
Griffith College offers a wide range of computing, applied digital media and multimedia programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level as part of its overall suite of courses. The College has fourteen computer labs at its centrally located South Circular Road campus, equipped with the latest iMac and PC desktops. The College has in recent years strongly increased its focus on online and blended learning facilities, recognising the rapidly growing student interest in flexible delivery options. Many Griffith courses are now fully available online, including in professional accountancy and law. Griffith College regularly hosts computing workshops for students and school leavers to introduce them to current industry trends such as mobile applications and gaming technologies.
